I’m super duper excited!! I started running in 7th grade because my gym teacher told me I should try it (and I had tried cheerleading and hated it). I found a cool group of other girls that were also on the track team, and so I stuck around for the next few years so I could hang out with them. As I transitioned from high school to collegiate running, my passion grew from enjoying running as a social time to being something that I love on a personal, private level as well, and what I love about running at RIT is that everyone else shares that same deep enjoyment for running as a leisure pastime, competitive sport, and as a time to catch up with friends over the course of 10 miles!

For me, doing this started out as a why not, turned into doing it because others said we probably couldn’t, and is now something that I want to do because I know it will be an amazing experience for myself as a runner that I can share with my best friends; it’ll be like one long sleepover (with 9 miles of running every day)! RIT cross country doesn’t get a lot of credit, especially our women’s team. So, I hope in addition that we will inspire the generations of runners who come after us (or any females in general) that strive for the impossible.
